"My Jesus"
Apr 19th, 2007 by michelle
Every night before bed, we say our prayers with our son and he kisses his icon of Christ. A few nights ago, he was holding the icon and said, “Mommy… my Jesus.” He then wanted to take “his Jesus” to bed with him. So I tucked him into bed holding his icon of Christ.
I went to bed and immediately told my husband, and he pointed out how our son already understands that Christ loves him. It was such a beautiful moment- one that will never be forgotten.

So adorable! What a loving boy you have, he’s my hero!
that is sooo sweet.
someone asked my daughter a while ago, “What’s it like being cradle orthodox?” She had no answer. She said “It’s like being asked, what it’s like to have brown hair” (she’s 14).
I’m so grateful that we found orthodoxy while our children were young. They have grown into it with us, and will have internalized it in a way I will never be able to, but am so so grateful for.
That’s so beautiful!
(I wish my daughters would be able to do the same, but my wife is unfortunately quite anti-Orthodoxy.)
beautiful…
