Christ Is Risen!

We had a beautiful (and busy!) Pascha weekend. ![]()
On Holy Saturday, we celebrated the one year anniversary since our chrismation and I had the pleasure and privilege of becoming a sponsor to my dear friend, Alexis, who was chrismated with her husband on Holy Saturday. It was such a joyous day for us.
We went home after a meal of bread and wine, and I tried to finish my Pascha basket cover, which did not happen because both of my children decided that they were not going to go to sleep before the service (this happened last year too). Fortunately, Grace fell asleep in the car and slept through the entire service. I thought for sure the bells would wake her up, but I ended up having to wake her up right before the Eucharist. David stayed awake until about 3:30am! But he was very well behaved and became really excited during the procession outside.
We were all beat and didn’t stay very long after the service because that afternoon our church has an annual Pascha Picnic; so we wanted to be energized for that. We have a Vespers service in the afternoon (this year two people were made catechumens), everyone brings delicious food and there is even an egg hunt for the kids- this was David’s favorite part, besides playing with the caterpillar that he and his friend found.
”Christ is Risen!”— Excited at 11 o’clock at night — Pretty for Pascha

Truly He is Risen!
Have a blessed, and restful, Bright Week!
Indeed He is Risen!
Beautiful photos, and congratulations on being a Godmother, Alexis is very blessed.
Your kids are beautiful! We had a just as spiritually and emotionally wonderful Vespers/Picnic as we did Paschal Service, Thanks be to God. (We did Saturday night - with the 1 yr. old sleeping at home with Grandmother - at our new Parish and Sunday at our old one, where our Godbaby is.) What a blessed Bright Week this has been so far…
Oh, and you know what?! Considering my stressful struggles with the kids earlier in the week, strangely all day Friday I was thinking, tonight’s Lamentation Service is going to be peaceful… the kids are going to be okay… and they were!

Truly, He is Risen!
Sounds like you had an amazing Pascha. Have a blessed Bright Week!
Indeed He is Risen!
My 6 yr old slept through the service too. I think Lamentations is my favorite service after Pascha.
