from the Little Mountain

My husband and his friend stayed at the Hermitage of the Holy Cross in West Virginia about a week ago. My husband goes there at least twice a year, and this time he was able to purchase a copy of from the Little Mountain.
This is an incredible documentary. Not only is it informational, it is beautiful done! I was so impressed with the cinematography. The movie surpassed by expectations.
It is certainly something to be shared with Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike. Please consider purchasing this video.
From the Little Mountain takes you through a year at the Hermitage of the Holy Cross in West Virginia. This video is an attempt to portray some of the beauty and struggle of monastic life using quotes from the Scriptures and the Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church. Insights about monasticism from one of the senior monks at the monastery are given as you are visually taken through the Church liturgical year and the changing seasons in the mountains. This is a unique documentary of an Orthodox monastery in the 21st century, but the imagery and principles set forth are as ancient (and relevant) as those written by the 6th century instructor of monks, Abba Dorotheos.

hmm… I wonder if they will have it for sale at other monasteries in the country. I am going to St. Paraskevi’s in Texas this weekend, and I would LOVE to have a copy!
Thanks for the review. Perhaps I’ll be putting this on my Christmas list
