Going Green: Top Foods to Buy Organic
Jul 31st, 2008 by michelle
I’ve created a list of the fruits, vegetables and “others” that we should all try to purchase organic. These are the items of produce with the highest amount of pesticides.
Just click on the list for the larger version (depending on your browser, you may need to click on it again to view the full size); then right click and save the list so that you can print it.
I’ve compiled this list from various websites and information from books I have read. If you do your shopping at a Farmer’s Market, don’t assume that what you are buying is organic. You need to ask the seller first.
As for baby food, it is really easy to make your own.
If anyone is interested in learning how to do this, please leave a comment and I can post about it at a later time.

I just recently heard this about bananas which I found interesting - always thought since they are so thick-skinned they would be “safe” once the skin is removed. It’s a crazy world we live in.
Or you can grow your own garden and just supplement with organic groceries! I recently read “Animal Vegetable Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver… she doesn’t eat bananas. Think about how LOCAL they are…not to Ohio, maybe a few will grow in the warm climates of Georgia or Florida, but the majority come from other countries. In additon to eating organic, we should try eat as local as we can.
