He Still Needs Your Prayers
Aug 12th, 2008 by michelle
The first couple of days home went really well. He was eating well, sleeping well, and playing almost like he normally does. But by Sunday, he had changed.
His change from Saturday afternoon to Monday evening
Starting Saturday night, he was sleeping with us because we would wake up in the night crying. On Sunday afternoon, he threw up and was generally not feeling well. Then on Monday he was really out of sorts, refusing to eat or drink. He woke up in the night screaming and slept in our bed with us. He woke up several times crying and screaming. He has refused to eat anything today and is only drinking small amounts of water/juice at at time. He keeps telling me that his throat hurts and all he wants to do is sick on the couch, cuddle with Mommy and watch “Cars.”
Please keep our little man in your prayers.

My co-worker’s daughter had her tonsils out too. The doctor said day 3, 4 and 5 are the absolute worst. Hang in there. Popsicles! Lots of popsicles! And hugs of course.
Aww, poor little guy. I hope he’s feeling himself soon.
I hope he feels better very soon. It’s so hard to watch our little ones not feel well. Much grace be to you all. Rebeca
Poor little soul !
What is he drinking/eating in popsicle form ? Some fruits are really quite acidic and irritant to sensitive soft tissues in the mouth. Orange is a particular culprit, along with pineapple.
If you are concerned, don’t hesitate to contact the doctor/hospital for advice, though. Especially if he has not improved significantly by tomorrow.
I know it sounds gross, but regularly check the colour of his urine if he isn’t drinking much.
If it is darker than a very pale yellow/straw colour, he may be becoming dehydrated, so I would phone the doctor. If dark yellow, or orange, contact your care-giver **ASAP** for advice/assessment.
Sending up prayers for you all……
I approve his taste in movies - I love “Cars” too !
Oh no! poor guy. Prayers.
Lord have mercy. Poor guy, and poor mama as well. Praying for him.
God grant him quick relief!
Maybe ice cream instead of popsicles?
Thanks for the suggestion, but we already tried ice cream and it made it even harder for him to swallow. I am open to any suggestions at this point
Poot boy! We’ll be praying for him!
It was just about a year ago we were going through Johnny’s terrible hives and your post reminded me of how I felt then. It’s so hard to see them in pain and you want nothing more than to make it all better. I will pray for you all. Christ’s love for our children is greater than our own, may He comfort you and your sweet little guy.
How is the little man doing today ? You have all been in my thoughts and prayers.
