What is he drinking/eating in popsicle form ? Some fruits are really quite acidic and irritant to sensitive soft tissues in the mouth. Orange is a particular culprit, along with pineapple. If you are concerned, don't hesitate to contact the doctor/hospital for advice, though. Especially if he has not improved significantly by tomorrow. I know it sounds gross, but regularly check the colour of his urine if he isn't drinking much. If it is darker than a very pale yellow/straw colour, he may be becoming dehydrated, so I would phone the doctor. If dark yellow, or orange, contact your care-giver **ASAP** for advice/assessment.
