Quick Updates…

- My Uncle Bob is doing a little bit better! He is still in ICU, but he is breathing much better and more aware than he was a few days ago. Thank you for your prayers.
- My mom has already had a bone scan, chest xray and CAT scan. The technician who did the bone scan told my mom that she didn’t see anything wrong with her bones (meaning no bone cancer), but she isn’t a doctor; so my mom needs to wait to see what the doctor says. She will be picking up her films on Thursday and will, hopefully, know more at that point. Her appointment is still on the 25th. Please keep her in your prayers because even in the best case scenario, she will need surgery.
- Potty training week! Please pray for my patience! :) My son was ready just before our daughter was born, but we completely missed that opportunity because being on bedrest and then having a newborn would make it impossible to potty train a toddler. So we have waited. I tried a couple of month ago, but that failed. So we started this week. I tried to take him to the toilet at steady intervals throughout the day, but that didn’t work and he would almost immediately have accidents on the kitchen floor as soon as we entered the room. I have developed my own plan- designed specifically for my stubborn little guy- called “Poop/Pee Or Stay On the Pot.” He quite obviously needed to have bowel movement this morning; he was hiding in corners. So I made him sit on the toilet until he did. And this worked- twice! Then he peed all over our bathroom wall- on purpose. He is a punk :) He then peed on the kitchen floor only a few minutes later. I had him clean it up himself. Then I had the following conversation with him:
Mommy: Where are you supposed to pee?
Him: On the floor.
Mommy: No.
Him: In the bathub.
Mommy: No.
Him: In the toilet.
Mommy: YES!
Thanks for your prayers!!

Lord have mercy! You have my prayers re: potty training. Not something I’d wish to go through again!! LOL! But you will survive…as will the little man. LOL!
Perhaps try the cheerio contest. Float a cheerio in the toilet. He gets a star every time he hits it while going potty. Or he gets a fistful of cheerios every time he hits it.
The fact that he is controlled enough to decorate the bathroom wall suggests he is quite ready for this step of growing up! YAY! Wait till he enjoys the freedom of peeing in the bushes. Sigh.
Urg. Potty training.
And, whohoooo on your mom’s bone scan! Prayers continue, but I like what I’m hearing
Keeping your Mom and Uncle in prayer.
I really can’t remember those potty training days with my two-they must have been either a breeze and nothing really to remember or so traumatic that I have blocked them from my memory…why do I think that it is the latter?
Good luck! …prayin for patience for ya!
