“Let God Plan Your Family” ~Fr. Roman Braga

When we visited Dormition Monastery last month, I had the extreme privilege of making confession with Father Roman Braga. I had seen the documentary on his time in the Pitesti prison and was humbled to be in the presence of such a godly man.
He asked me several questions and ended our confession time by saying,
Love your husband.
Let God plan your family.
How thankful I am for my husband and the beautiful children that God has blessed us with. I am honored that God would chose me to be their mother- even with all that I lack.
May God continue to teach me how to be a mother to my children. May my tongue be slow and affection constant. May I show my children what a life of prayer, fasting and reflection looks like. May I be patient and kind, firm and consistent, always keeping their best interests in mind. May God bless us with more precious children in the years to come.
O Lord Jesus Christ, into Thine almighty and paternal hands do I entrust my children. Place them upon the right hand of Thy grace, and through Thy Holy Spirit sanctify them and renew them unto life everlasting, that they may be communicants of Thy Heavenly Kingdom. Amen
I LOVE that. And you don’t hear that much these days. It’s all about ‘family planning’. We have 5 kids and I’m so thrilled. And we didn’t really ‘plan’ any of them. And who knows if we’ll have more. I like to think that I’m not in charge. It’s much more relaxing that way!
