Raising Them Right : A Saints Advice on Raising Children
Oct 27th, 2008 by michelle
I started reading this book last night. I am not that far into it yet, but I am really enjoying what I am reading. I really like this quote:
“Christian life is zeal, and the strength to remain in communion with God by means of an active fulfilment of His holy will, according to our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the help of the grace of God, to the glory of His most holy name.”
I like this definition for zeal that I found online: “Enthusiastic devotion to an ideal and tireless diligence in its furtherance.”
Isn’t that what the Christian life should be?

I started reading this in the book The Path to Salvation, but haven’t gotten any further since the birth of my son a month ago. Please pray for me, a sinner.
I have the Path to Salvation also, but haven’t had it out lately…guess I am going to go get it now!
I remember quitting half way through Path to Salvation, because it was pretty hard and I was still new to Orthodoxy. Maybe I should reconsider it now.
What, you might wonder was too hard?
Well, here’s an example: I teach drama at the local high school and St. Theophan argues that theatre is evil.
