He didn’t sleep through the night and ended up sleeping with us, but he woke up in a good mood (he took his pain meds half asleep; so that helped). He was his normal crazy-hyper boyish self for part of the morning until he completely crashed. He is now napping, and, Lord willing, will wake up feeling even better. One can only hope.

Thanks for your prayers!!

Thank you for all the emails and comments on my blog.

Our little guy is still having a hard time. My hubby and I both think that he seems to be getting a little bit worse everyday. He wakes up in the night screaming and has been sleeping with us since Friday night. At the beginning, he was eating and drinking all the time, now I can hardly get him to take a sip of anything; although, for some odd reason, he really likes eating cookies right now.

It is really crucial for him to be taking in a lot of fluids right now as the scabs at the back of his throat begin to fall off. If he is dehydrated, it can cause him to have internal bleeding- which in about 2-3% of cases requires immediate surgery to repair. (Please pray that this doesn’t happen!). This is the most painful part of recovery and can last several days.

Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

The first couple of days home went really well. He was eating well, sleeping well, and playing almost like he normally does. But by Sunday, he had changed.

His change from Saturday afternoon to Monday evening

Starting Saturday night, he was sleeping with us because we would wake up in the night crying. On Sunday afternoon, he threw up and was generally not feeling well. Then on Monday he was really out of sorts, refusing to eat or drink. He woke up in the night screaming and slept in our bed with us. He woke up several times crying and screaming. He has refused to eat anything today and is only drinking small amounts of water/juice at at time. He keeps telling me that his throat hurts and all he wants to do is sick on the couch, cuddle with Mommy and watch “Cars.”

Please keep our little man in your prayers.

The surgery went well this morning and we came home only a few hours afterwards. He had both his tonsils and adenoids removed and is doing really well. The worst part was when we could all hear him screaming down the hallway, but we weren’t allowed to see him yet. Fortunately, as soon as Mommy arrived and held him, he stopped crying and went back to sleep.

Waiting to See the Doctor- Look at that sad face!

We are actually shocked at how much energy he has now- and his appetite! He is only supposed to be drinking or eating really soft foods, but at lunch, he snuck a hashbrown and scarfed it!

He has also become REALLY bossy. He was crying at the hospital and when Nathaniel went to wipe his eyes, he said, “No Daddy! MY eyes!” Then we were got home, he said, “Daddy! Movie! Now!” It is really funny because we are not used to him being this way.

Waiting to go into Surgery and After

We will be taking it very easy for the next week or so. We anticipate that things will get worse before they get better. But we have lots of ice pops on hand to keep David happy.

Thanks for everyone’s support!

I’ve compiled this list from various websites and information from books I have read. If you do your shopping at a Farmer’s Market, don’t assume that what you are buying is organic. You need to ask the seller first.

As for baby food, it is really easy to make your own.

If anyone is interested in learning how to do this, please leave a comment and I can post about it at a later time.
